Did you know there are habits you likely participate in at work that damage your teeth and gums? Well, it’s true. Unfortunately, there are quite a few of them. It’s best to avoid these habits as much as possible so you can maintain the top-notch oral health you deserve. Our dentist, Dr. Louis Migliazzo, encourages you to avoid the following habits:

-Using your teeth as tools, like using your teeth to open packages or tear off a tag.

-Chewing on pens and pencils. This can add pressure to the teeth and create small tooth fractures.

-Sipping on your caffeinated or sugary drink throughout the day. It’s best to drink it quickly so your teeth aren’t exposed to harmful substances constantly.

-Smoking. Smoking is very dangerous for the mouth, especially because it promotes tooth decay, gum disease, tooth loss, oral cancer, and more.

-Forgetting your toothbrush at home. If you forget your toothbrush at home, you can’t brush after lunch. It’s recommended to brush after lunch so you can maintain a clean smile.
